TWINS CORPORATED is the collaborative work of identical twins clara and julia von schantz. since 2016, they have explored individuality, representation, and twinship through research-based and performative approaches. they examine how identical twins challenge individualistic norms and concepts of the self within broader social and cultural structures. one such example is how twins are systematically mistaken for someone else and can be perceived as copies, which contradicts the Western capitalist imperative of constant individualization. TWINS CORPORATED has presented their work in galleries, public spaces, offices, and medical institutions, and are active in curatorial work at the self-organized initiatives affair, berlin [DE] and R, stockholm [SE].
